What is in that Suitcase?

Have love will travel.

The pick up has been scheduled!

5pm; Thursday; March 3rd, 2005!

She is packing her suitcase already. In my warped and idealistic mind she has heard all the good words about me from her grandmother's visits and she is anxious to come to her new home. She know it is now HER home and she will "let"me live with her! Anxious to meet her new friends Lily, Joplin, Chloe, TJ & Cody, and Maxie who are all tapping thier paws (hooves) imaptiently, awaiting her arrival. She will pack her little pink belly, her wonderful puppy breath and her little whimper as well her spazzie little body that will jump around with out much regard for anything around . What else would a puppy pack to come to her new home?

What the Hell?

I wonder if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird religious cult.

Pink is for Phat Girls!

I'm Gettin' Phat!!!! Posted by Hello

Friday was a hard day for me and many of my dear friends. We said good-bye to a wonderful friend, son and brother yesterday who was taken from us far, far too soon. It was a great loss to our world! Please send your warm thoughts and prayers to the Matini family at this time of tradegy. Today I am very out of sorts! So...... I decided to do something uplifting; Suzanne and I went to every pet store in town seaching for a Pink leash and collar for the new little pup. They have every color, pattern and fabric you can imagine-including John Deer Green and Yellow-- but no pink!!! I just had my mind set on Pink for this little girl! As a last resort, and because Saturday wouldn't be Saturday with out a trip to Target (AKA "Tarrrjjjjayyy") low and behold, they had cutest pink gingham collar for $6! Target Rocks!!

Now, I'm ready for my little girl to come home-The crate is set up, the collar has been bought, the ID tag, produced and the proper leash ordered.

Sometimes you realize how life works. A new life, to give us love and happiness comes in after one has been taken from us. The circle of life goes on. Alex, Patrick, be strong............................ Mike, we'll miss you forever!!!! Please tell Sasha I love her when you see her!

Confidence is dangerous!

Exactly 8 days ago I started this blog with this laptop on my......lap, perched comfortably on the couch, TV on, blogging away, happy as a lark!. Today, sadly.......... I am once again tethered to the USB cable and three-way cable splitter I must use in my 59 year old home, in order to be "connected", sans dial up! Why............... you ask? Wireless isn't working.........Whaaaaa! The nimrods in my neighborhood have negelected to turn off thier broadcast-so I begun picking up other networks named "moonlight" and "Bitch", I'm convinved hte latter is the little tart that lives beneath Suzanne! It just well, sort of, describes her! So being the technically savy chick that I am I start playing "in a land I had no business playing in"! In tyring to delete the neighborhood infiltrators, I somehow deleted my own Key! I've tried and tried in vain to correct the problem and regain my key..........all to no avail! Today's realization is that I am not as smart as I think I am. Someone, please lul me back in to that false sense of confidence...........it much nicer place to live!

My Little Princess!

Dogs are such a calming factor-I'm so looking forward to coming home every night to that unconditional love and puppy breath! Perhaps while she is small enough to sneak her past the building guards I can have that wonderful feeling during the day, hidden deep in the depths of my office! IED needs a mascot!

The gremlins DO live in DC!

My first day back in the DC office proved to be quite trying. As soon as I arrived I had the dishwasher overflowing, the light cover had fallen out in kitchen, the telephones had crashed and been rebuilt from scratch over the weekend and were ringing in all the wrong places. Happy Valentine's Day to me! I want to go back to Austin! This is why I have begun the Countdown: 17 days until Lexi!!! Here she is at 3 weeks!

Dog is my co-pilot.

Lately, I have been lost with out my "co-pilot"-Sasha. As many of you know Sasha was my 10 year old Yelow Lab;the best and swetest Lab, EVER! Last January('04) we discovered she had cancer. She was only given three months to live and I tried to make the best of the time we had left together. She was stronger than we all thought and lasted with a few close calls until September, when sadly, the time came to let her go. I was devestated!

I always knew I would include another Lab in my life at some point, but knew I was not ready to take on a new puppy just yet. But, I have, by way of my friends had visitation privileges with their "children". Lilly White, Joplin Hempson-Brown and Chloe Seeley-Herman have all been victims of my "pent-up" puppy loving. I'm not sure how they deal with it! In fact, Chloe is laying at my feet as I type this evening. Her Mom and Dad are both travelling this week.

And now, may I report the true catalyst of this Blog.....
My, as yet, still "cooking" new yellow Labrador puppy-Lexi! Litle Lexi is 33 days old, today. And still with her Mom (Abbegail) and her 7 other littermates. My mom and her friend Dorla went to visit Lexi yesterday at the Hershey Farm and the report came in today.....She is getting cuter and cuter each day!

Her due date (for me) is March 3rd. So stay tuned for the antics of little Lexi!

Wireless is a beautiful thing!

Here we go! I have finaly entered the 21st century thanks to Keith and Adrienne! After a trip to Frye's on a recent trip to Austin,TX; did I mention Frye's is the Mecca for the computer geek? Wow, was I ever mezmorized, they have things there that I couldn't even imagine! Off to the wireless aisle-and I do mean aisle-more routers, cards and other other stuff than you can fathom to allow for couch perching while also surfing! Thanks to the acountant-gone-technical-nerd, I was now holding the two things that would get me on the couch and on the net all in one fell swoop! And here I sit Blogging with the best of them! Only one problem-my keyboard is not working tonight-Kelley tells me it was the plane ride. Too frustrated now to type any more! We'll see if tomorrow brings " Keyboard de-pressurization".
